🌟 Introduction to Moses
Moses, born in Egypt to Hebrew parents from the tribe of Levi, was miraculously saved during Pharaoh’s slaughter of Hebrew baby boys (Exodus 1:22). His mother Jochebed hid him for three months, then placed him in a basket among the Nile reeds where he was discovered and raised by Pharaoh’s daughter (Exodus 2:1–10). Despite growing up in Egyptian royalty, Moses never forgot his Hebrew heritage.
He fled Egypt after killing an Egyptian who was beating a Hebrew slave, spending 40 years in Midian as a shepherd and marrying Zipporah, daughter of Jethro the priest (Exodus 2:11–25). At the burning bush, God called Moses at age 80 to return to Egypt and deliver His people from slavery (Exodus 3–4). Moses became the great lawgiver and leader of the Israelites, performing mighty miracles and receiving the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai.
Moses led the Israelites through the Red Sea, wandered the wilderness for 40 years due to their rebellion, and guided them to the edge of the Promised Land. He died at 120 years old, full of vigor, yet forbidden to enter the land because of a moment of disobedience (Deuteronomy 34:7).
The name Moses likely means “drawn out,” fitting for a man who was drawn out of water and used by God to draw His people out of bondage. His life and leadership remain a foundational pillar in God’s redemption story.

Moses’ journey is one of divine interruption and holy obedience. From palace to pasture, from fugitive to prophet, Moses responded to God’s call despite self-doubt and speech struggles. His relationship with Aaron, his brother, served as a support system in facing Pharaoh. His deep encounters with God on Mount Sinai established him as the lawgiver of Israel and the only man to speak with God face-to-face (Exodus 33:11).
He endured criticism, rebellion, and the burdens of leadership, yet remained faithful. His life was marked by supernatural acts—parting the Red Sea, manna from heaven, water from a rock, and his shining face after encountering God. He broke the tablets in righteous anger and interceded on Israel’s behalf countless times. Though he stumbled by striking the rock instead of speaking to it, his legacy remained untarnished in God’s grand plan.
Moses is unique—both mighty in deeds and humble in spirit. “Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth” (Numbers 12:3). His death, directed by God, closed the chapter of wilderness wandering but opened the gates of legacy.

Moses teaches us that God can use the unlikely, the imperfect, and the fearful to do mighty things. Faith isn’t the absence of fear—it’s obedience in the face of it. Trust in God’s plan, even if you don’t feel equipped. Walk humbly, lead boldly, and never let your past define your future.
